Footsteps of a Dreamer

mikilofsouthern:

apparently they’re requiring all colleges to have options for drugs like plan B in their heath insurance. And they’re a Christian college and they don’t like this.

I’m a Christian, but I don’t really consider myself prolife or prochoice. I’m pro whatever the hell you want to be. For myself, I don’t particularly like abortion, because who’s to say when a baby becomes a baby? I think it’s a personal decision, not one the government, or your doctor, or people in your church can make for you. (which is why I think maybe more counseling before and after might be a good idea…but that’s not the point) anyways, I just find all these recent debates about how abortion attacks religion crazy. If you don’t like abortion don’t get one. Actually SUPPORT things like Planned Parenthood because in reality they’re about things like options and counseling, they’re not out to make every single person have an abortion.

Plus, the whole thing makes people who DON’T support abortion but are in a situation where they don’t have many other options feel even worse about it. I know a few years ago my mom was worried that she might be pregnant again, and with her health, neither of them would survive. She wasn’t pregnant, but I know she would have had a hell of a time deciding what to do if she was, and the last thing she would have needed is people guilt-tripping her if she decided to not have the baby.

tldr; why can’t you just be happy that the government is giving the girls in your college safe, cheap options if that’s what they want to do instead of risking them doing something drastic and unsafe? :/
